Online Higher Education Academic Leader
Janet Morrison, Ph.D., has dedicated much of her higher education career to teaching and advising, with a focus on interpersonal communication. Since 2013, she has served as an academic advisor at Champlain College Online, supporting students in achieving their academic goals. In September 2021, she transitioned to the role of Director for the General Education and Integrated Studies programs, and in July 2024, she was named Chair of Social Sciences, Integrated Studies, and General Education.
Morrison holds a doctorate in Speech Communication, specializing in instructional communication. Her research explores how teachers and students navigate emotionally charged classroom discussions arising from inclusive and diverse curricula, reflecting her commitment to fostering meaningful and equitable educational experiences.
