How OPM Hopes to Cultivate Cyber Talent

Federal employees are becoming eligible for retirement in waves, and cybersecurity skills are now in short supply. One of the best strategies to addressing this issue is developing the skills of the people who already work for the government. To help remedy this growing cyber skills gap, the Office of Personnel Management has pursued partnerships with higher education institutions with multiple higher education institutions nationwide, including Champlain College Online via a truED alliance. Champlain's programs - particularly in cybersecurity - closely align with OPM's need to offer high-quality, affordable education opportunities for employees that focus on mission-critical areas.
